How should high-voltage insulators be cleaned?

The cleaning methods for high-voltage insulators mainly include the following:

Power outage cleaning:

After a power outage on the high-voltage line, workers can climb onto the pole and use a cloth to wipe the insulators. If the pollution is heavy, you can use a damp cloth or detergent to scrub. If it still cannot be cleaned thoroughly, it may be necessary to replace the insulator or use a composite insulator.

Uninterrupted cleaning:

Use insulated rods equipped with brushes or tied with cotton yarn to wipe insulators on the operating line. The operation must comply with the regulations of the corresponding voltage level and must be supervised by a dedicated person.

Electric water flushing:

This method includes two methods: large water flushing and small water flushing. The flushing water, effective length of the operating rod, and distance between people and live parts must comply with industry regulations.

High pressure water flow cleaning technology:

With the development of technology, high-pressure water flow cleaning technology has gradually become an important means of insulator cleaning. The high-pressure water flow generated by the high-pressure water gun is used to spray clean the surface of the insulator. This method has strong impact force, can effectively remove the pollutants on the surface of the insulator, and can achieve precise cleaning to avoid damage to surrounding equipment.

The frequency and importance of cleaning:

In general areas, insulators are cleaned once a year; In polluted areas, cleaning is carried out twice a year, usually before the fog season. Timely cleaning can effectively eliminate pollution and flash hazards, enhance the heat dissipation function of equipment, reduce high-temperature losses during equipment operation, and improve the load-bearing capacity of equipment.
